PRODUCE & SERVICES

Our farming includes intensive arable, vegetable seed and processed export vegetables crops.

We nurture our land to grow pure produce for the New Zealand and export market.

Our farm enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with generally a dry summer with hot norwest winds. Hail and late frost pose a risk.

Our average rainfall is 700 mm spread throughout the year. Southerly wind patterns can bring cold rain and occasionally snow falls which can stay on ground for short periods.

Our soils are Chertsey or Lismore. These soils are windblown silts 300 - 600 mm deep laying over hundreds of meters of free draining clay bound gravel and have 60 - 100mm water hold capacity. These soils take minimal preparation prior to drilling. The irrigated free draining silt loam Mid Canterbury soils make for ideal conditions to grow quality vegetables for local and export markets.

Ag Logistics

We cart all our own produce throughout the South Island with the exception of our potato crop. We also cart commercially when we have excess capacity.
